"I, Elmer C. Colpitts, was a student at Mt. Allison from 1898 to 1902 and received my B.A. degree with honors in mathematics. I taught at Mt. Allsion Academy in 1902-1903. I attended Cornell University from 1903 to 1906 when I received my Ph. D. degree in mathematics. I held a scholarship that became vacant for the second half of the 1903-1904 and received $150. I received a scholarship of $300 for the year 1905-1905. During the year 1905-1906 I was an assistant in mathematics and my salary was the enormous sum of $100 for teaching Analytic Geometry and Calculus five hours a week durng the school year. This paid my tuition which was $100 a year. Your aunt Julia was my banker and I owed her less than $400 when I left Cornell.
I have taught full time as follows:
Mt. Allison Academy, Sackville, N.B. Canada 1902-1903
Georgia School of Technology, Atlanta, Ga 1906-1907
College of Emporia, Emporia, Kansas 1907-1911
